SLEEP PROJECT 2011

Aëla Labbé (dance / photography)
Aëla Labbé was born in 1986 in Brittany, France. From an early age she devoted herself to dancing, a passion which led her to Amsterdam where she studied theatre-dance at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten for three years.
Back in France, she became increasingly interested in photography, which she sees as by essence connected to dance. Today, she works as a freelance photographer and contemporary dancer.

Maro Bizarro (painting / sculpture)
Maro Bizarro was born in California. After studying Fine Art with a focus on sculpture at Lawrence University in Wisconsin, she decided to come to Greece. As a freelance artist, her eclectic and diverse array of mediums has lead her to many creative endeavors. Currently, she enjoys painting, street art, photography, film, portraiture, murals, tutoring, and her puppy, Saravako.

Anna Tzakou (performance / theater)
Anna is enthusiastic about exploring the limits of performance. She believes that everything starts from a dynamic relationship between the body and the environment, possibly because she considers this relationship to be the key to personal and collective bliss.
Stamatis has been occupied (in vain) with the search of his own identity for the last 32 years. He is currently seeking communication in various ways, within a collective/collaborative environment. Especially communication through music and sounds.
Dimitris works as a musician, composer, engineer and sound designer using natural sounds, musical instruments and electronic means. He is particularly interested in writing music using lyrics/text and in collaborating with art collectives.

Frequency On (music)
Frequency oN is a band of four, formed in 2009. Its members have been part of other bands and music projects in the past (Closer, Matisse, Surf Jazzer, GravitySays_I, Cloudscape, Goya’s Dream). Their music could be classified as post-punk / new wave. They have played several gigs in various spaces in Athens. Today, they are part of the Sleep Project, getting a chance to experiment and broaden their musical and artistic limits, but also to interact with other artists and disciplines. They are currently recording their first album.

Marianna Athanasiadou (architecture)
Marianna Athanasiadou spent eight years in the United States studying Architecture at Harvard University and Arizona State University. She has received numerous awards for her academic and professional excellence, and she has taken part in several exhibitions. Her highest accomplishment was when she received a Progressive Architecture Award for the project GLUE, which was published in Architecture Magazine and exhibited at the Getty Museum in Los Angeles.
Today she lives and works in Athens.
